Product Review: If You Were Me and Lived in...Egypt by Carole P. Roman, Illustrated by Kelsea Wierenga

*****This review is meant for parents, teachers, and other people that work with children to read.*****

If You Were Me and Lived in...Egypt is another great addition to the A Child's Introduction to Culture Around the World series by Carole P. Roman! It follows the format of the other books in the series in which a boy and girl point to where the country is on the globe and includes topics such as popular boys and girls names, holidays, games, tourist attractions, and sports.

This is a book that will not only reach out to children but adults who read it to children that don't already know some of the information taught in it. What I found interesting (and didn't know before reading this book) is that Egypt is a transcontinental country located in both Africa and Asia. I noticed that there are many things about Egypt relating to ancient times also, such as three famous pyramids that were built by pharaohs or kings in ancient times; I had known that there were (are)  pyramids in Egypt but I didn't know they came from ancient times. What some athletes do in the wilderness caught my attention also.

This is a great series to teach children, so they will understand about the different cultures taught through the books and the people that have been / are a part of those cultures better.

My review= 5 out of 5 stars

I received this book free in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
