Book Blog Tour: Laugh Out Loud Pocket Doodles for Girls by Rob Elliott, Illustrated by Jonny Hawkins

*****This review is meant for parents, teachers, and other people that work with children to read.*****

This is a joke and doodle book for young girls. The jokes are funny enough to make them laugh out loud, probably pretty hysterically in some cases. Most pages give a question and answer for a joke and there is a doodling activity listed at the bottom of the pages. Sometimes there are parts of the pictures missing on the people, animals, places and things; readers are supposed to draw in what is missing. Other times they will be told to draw something into the pictures that aren't there at all. The drawings in the book are pencil-like and look like cartoons to me. It is a pocket-sized book, which I believe is where part of the name of this book came from.

All that girls really need is a place to read the jokes, something to draw and/or color with, and maybe even some friends and family to share the jokes in this book with! Most and maybe even all jokes in this book will be understood by most young girls, since they apply to topics that probably interest most of them. I noticed that some of the jokes used in this book were also used in the boys' version of this same book, which showed me that they are about subjects that interest both girls and boys. In my opinion, some of the doodling activities will bring out some artistic qualities in girls that maybe they didn't know they have. In my opinion, they will probably have fun coloring the drawings already in the book also.

My review= 5 out of 5 stars

I received this book free in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
