Book Review: And Then Another Sheep Turned Up by Laura Gehl, Illustrated by Amy Adele

And Then Another Sheep Turned Up (Paperback)
*****This review is meant for parents, teachers, and other people that work with children to read.*****

And Then Another Sheep Turned Up is a delightful book for children ages 3-8. A family gets ready for Passover (Pesach). When the seder starts they unexpectantly receive more guests. They do not act aggravated at all, they joyfully welcome each new sheep in like it is a blessing to the family that they showed up. Children might laugh with each new guest that arrives, getting excited that another sheep has shown up. The end of the book provides a lesson about people that show up without calling first as well, helping children to understand it's okay to share Passover with others but seders might run more smoothly when hosts know who will be attending.

I loved how as new sheep were showing up that different parts of the Passover seder were shown. Some of the guests even added new parts to the seder that wouldn't have been included if they hadn't showed up it looked like. I love how this book shows that Passover shouldn't be about just our immediate family but other people in the family, or other people we know that do not have people to celebrate it with.

My Review = 5 out of 5 stars

I received this book free from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
