Book Review: Fribbet the Frog and the Tadpoles by Carole P. Roman

*****This review is meant for parents, teachers, and other people that work with children to read.*****

Fribbet the Frog and the Tadpoles is another exiting edition to the Captain No Beard series by Carole P. Roman! The story starts out by Cayla dropping a bucket of water on board.  The deck now is soaked with dirty water! Then Fribbet the frog is missing! The story then carries a lesson about sharing our load with others because problems can weigh us down and our loads become lighter. So Fribbet the frog shares his load about what is going on in his life. Even though it is a problem for him the crew tries to help him see the good in it and how much of a blessing it is!

Children will learn about what baby frogs are called, how long it takes for their eggs to hatch, what they look like, and a little about the change processes they go through as they are growing. There is even an illustration showing this in the book. I liked that the characters in this story showed that they were Fribbet’s friends by wanting to hear what was bothering him. The story that he shares with them is not just a good thing that he will probably notice later, it prepares the crew for something new and exciting when they land back in their bedroom when the voyage is over!
