E-Book Review: The Healthy Me Team by Netta Gerad, Illustrated by Mehwish Kanwal

Disclosure: I received this product as part of an advertorial.

*****This review is meant for parents, teachers, and other people that work with children to read.*****

The Healthy Me Team is a children’s book in which unhealthy artificial colors and white sugar fight against healthy vitamins and minerals. The story reads as a poem. It helps children learn that it will be better for them to eat healthy foods like fruits and vegetables than candy and ice cream because when the unhealthy foods enter their bodies they fight with the vitamins and minerals in the healthy food they may have also recently ate. There are color illustrations in the book that describe the fight between healthy vitamins and minerals and unhealthy artificial colors and sugar additives, and the differences in how children feel with energy they have from either taking in healthy foods versus unhealthy foods.

Some children might not understand that artificial colors and white sugar are not healthy, so I believe this book will really open up their ears and eyes to understand that better. It will most likely help them to realize that the reason why they could be lacking energy is because artificial colors and white sugar probably have been added to sweets they eat like candy, ice cream, and cookies. In my opinion, the story does a great job of explaining that vitamins and minerals found in fruits and vegetables are the good guys and the unhealthy additives in sweets are the bad guys.

My review = 5 out of 5 stars
