My Review of Treasury of Bible Stories:
Treasury of Bible Stories is written and illustrated by Kelly Pulley. It brings some of the most loved Bible stories to children in the format of rhythmical rhymes. It teaches children about stories from Bible times and also about words that rhyme. The detailed, full-color illustrations will help bring children deeper into the Bible stories. The titles of the stories in this book point out the main lessons to be reached; the subtitles show who/what the stories are about. The Scripture verses where the stories come from are listed after the titles, giving parents and teachers the opportunity to bring the Bible texts into the stories as well by reading them before or after each of the stories.
This will most likely be a good book to keep near children’s bedsides, to read to them when they are ready to go to sleep, or to keep on bookshelves in classrooms or home libraries. Most of the stories seem to last about ten pages with some of the pages only being used for illustrations, which I think helps children learn deeper about the stories if they have learned shorter versions of them through other books. There are also some sounds that children might like to hear in some of the stories, to bring it more alive to them. The hardback edition (which is the one I received) will probably hold up for awhile as long as the pages aren’t ripped out of them, or it isn’t dropped very often.
My review = 5 out of 5 stars
