Book Review: Terry Treetop Finds New Friends by Tali Carmi, Illustrated by Mindy Liang

Disclosure: I received this product as part of an advertorial.

*****This review is meant for parents, teachers, and other people that work with children to read.*****

Terry loves climbing trees and one day his dad builds him a tree house, although once it is finished and he spends time in it he feels like he is missing something. He wants some friends to share his new tree house with! He goes on a journey to try to find friends to share his tree house with among some farm animals and none of the farm animals are interested in spending time with him. He’s very discouraged and on his journey back home he discovers another animal that he is able to help, and the fact that he offers his help turns his need for friendship around in a very big way.

I really liked that Terry wanted to share his new tree house with others. This book educates children about different farm animals and what their roles are to help others. I really think this story will encourage a lot of children who feel friendless, to help them to keep trying to find the friends that are right for them. Even though the farm animals couldn’t give Terry any of their time he didn’t lash out at them but kept moving forward with his journey; he then came across someone he could give time to. This story is also a good way to teach children that if we are in the middle of a project and are interrupted to help or give time to someone in need that it would be nice to interrupt our schedules to show compassion and attention to someone that needs it once in awhile.

My review = 5 out of 5 stars
