Book Blog Tour: Dancing Upon Barren Land by Lesli A. Westfall

Sometimes it’s not so easy to be a barren woman (couple). There are families with children sprouting up everywhere. While people are sometimes overly joyous about their children and grandchildren infertile people often feel like a sharp arrow has pierced their heart(s) because they are childless. Written by a woman that knows how painful infertility is she uses her pain in Dancing Upon Barren Land to help women overcome some of the same painful feelings and experiences. It is full of prayers and Scriptures related to the topics, with a Table of Contents that makes it easy to find certain prayers that can be prayed when the readers are feeling different emotions (anger, fear, disappointment) and dealing with different situations (decisions, direction, loss).
One of the encouragements I came across in this book was for infertile women (couples) to love people where they are at. Finding joy in a friend’s children while you are childless is healing, although it still might not cause you to become a parent(s) yourself. Also, the encouragement given to sow into the lives of others was a great inspiration to me and I’m not even in a place where I can have children right now. I had someone in mind while reading this book who I know is having infertility problems, so I believe this will be a good book not only for people who are directly facing infertility but also for people who have friends experiencing infertility.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received a free copy of this book from Litfuse Publicity Group for this review. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
