I saw Ingrid as an unselfish woman, taking on a family with many children and loving them as if they were her own. This story helped me to realize that in some cases people can love children as much or more than a real parent (or parents) sometimes can, which is often how the Hunter children felt when comparing their replacement mother to their real mother. This story helped me to realize that the ability to become a replacement parent(s) is a matter of the heart, most likely coming from God to help those parents love the children the way he wants them to, in some cases like they are their own.
I had a hard time putting this book down at times. I am confident it will touch a lot of people.
