Book Blog Tour: Proverbs Prayers by John Mason

Proverbs Prayers guides readers through the 31 chapters of the Biblical book of Proverbs. Each Biblical book chapter is given as well as a prayer that helps readers put what they read from the Biblical book of Proverbs into practice. It can be used as a supplement to the book of Proverbs to help the Biblical book come alive to put the wisdom of that chapter into action in readers’ lives. At the back of the book there is an alphabetical listing of Proverbs principles in areas such as achievement, anger, character, compassion, discipline, knowledge, persistence, trust, and wisdom. The book is small enough to be tucked into a suitcase, purse, or bag.

As I read through the book of Proverbs and prayed the prayers given I found myself wanting to keep a better watch over my tongue so I can speak more words to build people up, to stay away from wrong behaviors more often, and I believe that I developed a deeper love for oppressed people. As I was reading this book, it intersected with what I was studying with a Bible study that I participate with through an online Bible school. The study helped me to understand that if I read the Proverbs often I will be continually pouring wisdom into my life. So as I read Proverbs in the future I might be pulling out this book to read the prayers that go with the Proverbs chapters.

I recommend this book to anybody that feels led to read it to help open up the book of Proverbs to them, whether they are currently reading the book of Proverbs individually or as a group, or if they want to read it in the future.

Disclosure of material connection: I received a complimentary copy of this book from Litfuse Publicity Group for this review. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
