Book Blog Tour and Contest Information: Live to Give by Austin Gutwein

God started to do something amazing in Austin Gutwein’s heart at the young age of nine. He started a basketball marathon called Hoops of Hope to help orphaned children with HIV/AIDS which has expanded all over the world since then. Austin touches on many subjects in this book but the Biblical foundation of the book is John 6:1-15, which is about the boy who brought his lunch the day he went to see/hear Jesus. Jesus shared the boy’s lunch with everybody. It uses the analogy of using what’s in your lunch box as an encouragement for people to use the gifts God has given them to serve others.

The story of John 6:1-15 that was shared throughout this book made me wonder what the day would have been like if the boy hadn’t brought his lunch, but I am sure Jesus would have performed some other miracle when everybody in the crowd got hungry if he hadn’t. A poll that was conducted and shared in the book explained that the number one fear among the people who were surveyed is not being accepted. Bullying is also described. It really got my attention when it was shared that bullying usually happens to someone when they are doing good because that is when a lot of bullying I have seen that has taken place has happened. It happens across all age groups but according to a survey that Austin did it happens most to the 16-21 age group. Bullying is also very much alive within the other age groups, especially within the adult age groups. Austin continuously shows in this book that God can use any person no matter what age group they are from for his good and glory, to help many people.

I recommend this book to people in all age groups who have a desire to learn how to serve God better, or who want to serve him more often.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Litfuse Publicity Group for this review. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
