E-Book Review: Moses: Steps to a Life of Faith by Bob Saffrin

Moses: Steps to a Life of Faith explains Moses’ life in great detail, from the beginning when we was hidden away after his birth, to being placed in the Nile river as an infant, to being with his parents for most of his childhood years, through his schooling with Egyptian education, through his time in the desert, all the way to his death. It also explains Moses’ rejection from his own people and how the Bible doesn’t go into a lot of detail about each person’s desert experience since each person’s experience is unique.

Even before Moses was born God must have had big plans for him. It seemed to me like the purpose of this book was to teach us that God’s plans for us can be just as big as Moses’ plans were, and that God constantly tests us to see if we are ready and willing for his plans. It describes that God builds our faith as we have a relationship with him, the more we spend time with God and grow our relationship with him the more faith he will give us. And when we go through hard experiences we can reveal the circumstance(s) to God, ask him what the purpose of the circumstances are, and he will either release us out of those circumstances or be with us through them. I know none of us will ever be like Moses but we can pray and try to be obedient to God in order reach the dreams that God has planted within our own hearts.

This was a great supplement to my current Bible readings from Exodus and Hebrews and I encourage other people to read this book while they are learning about Moses at their congregations or through Bible study groups.

My rating = 5 out of 5 stars
