Book Review: Slither Slide, What's Outside? by Nora Hilb, Simon and Sheryl Shapiro

*****This review is meant for parents, teachers, and other people that work with children to read.*****

This children’s book focuses on animals, nature, and seasons for children who are pre-school through kindergarten ages. It describes how children come up with ideas for play based on what they see in our world. It uses a real picture on one side of the page and an illustrated drawing related to the same topic with children playing on the other side.

My favorite part of the book was when a rainbow was being described and the children were drawing colorful pictures related to what they saw such as a rainbow, the sun, and flowers. This book also might be a way to help the children to be able to determine the difference in a real picture (photograph) and a drawing.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I viewed this book free from the publisher through Netgalley.com. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
